Emily Hunter is an environmental advocacy journalist that reports from the frontlines of environmental issues and activist movements. She has worked as the eco-correspondent for MTV News Canada and the eco-blogger for THIS Magazine. Currently, Emily’s first book has been published called The Next Eco-Warriors, an insider’s look at the new wave of environmental activism.
She is no stranger to the activist world. Emily was literally born into the environmental movement, as her father is Robert Hunter, the first president of Greenpeace. Emily herself has sailed on the high seas to save whales and fought in the battle against climate change. Today, she uses multi-platform media as her tool for change, informing and offering critical debate on the battle to save the planet.
Emily has hosted and co-produced four TV-documentary on MTV News Canada, ranging from the Canadian Tar Sands to the Toronto G20 protests; was one of the characters on the hit Animal Planet show “Whale Wars;” and has done eco-reporting from protest frontlines at the Copenhagen climate summit in 2009.
Hi Emily,
First wanted to say that I really appreciate the work you are doing! Thank you so much.
Second, un/related question is regarding your recent piece for MTV News Impact: G20 One Year Later report. I have many friends outside of Canada that would really appreciate seeing this but apparently copyrights protect the material from being viewed outside the country. I cannot seem to find a link that is accessible for them. Do you know if one exists? (Also couldn’t find contact information for MTV.ca to ask them either…though lots of BellMedia ads
)
All the best and thanks so much again.
