Episode 1: The Black Fish

Filmmaker Emily Hunter goes underground with a group called The Black Fish as they employ unconventional tactics to protect the Mediterranean Sea. Doing things differently, the activists attempt to track illegal fishing operations using controversial drone technology. With an ‘eye in the sky’ they attempt to do the impossible – stop the use of illegal driftnets that kills over 10,000 whales and dolphins every year. Following the activists into dangerous waters, the filmmaker joins them in an undercover investigation of illegal fishing operations. But the group quickly finds the odds are stacked up against them as they attempt to expose a multi-billion dollar market tied to crime syndicates. To learn more, visit: www.activism2.net

Episode 2: Sea Shepherd

To be released summer 2015, the second episode follows Emily as she embeds herself with a controversial group called Sea Shepherd to their fight to end whaling. Infamous for ramming and sinking whaling vessels, the Sea Shepherds have a new group of female leaders that are battling against pilot whale killing using innovative online and offline tactics. Far off in the Faroe Islands of Denmark, over a thousand whales are brutally slaughtered every year by local fisherman in a practice called the “Grind.” Attempting to stop an unpredictable hunt on a vast land has proven difficult, but this next generation of eco-heroines uses a combination of interactive maps and boots on the ground to end the hunt once and for all. To learn more, visit: www.activism2.net
